Hola, my dearest reader, Erick B. Salas here, the human behind Anatomy of a Costume, pleased to make your acquaintance. By day I am an environmental and climate change expert, but somewhere along the way I fell hard for the place where film and fashion history collide, and this blog is me finally doing something about it.
What you will find here: me pulling apart iconic film costumes thread by thread (fabric, silhouette, the fashion house behind them) and tracing how those same ideas keep resurfacing on today’s runways. I am not trained in fashion history, which is honestly half the fun; every post is really me teaching myself something and dragging you along for the ride.
When I’m not falling down a Margiela rabbit hole, you can find me at any kino in Berlin, and increasingly, hunting down more film/fashion crossovers to write about next.
Here is my Insta account, in case you feel like sending your regards.
